Our Country Parks provide valuable outdoor spaces for people to enjoy and this year there's lots to come with a range of events. There are lots of activities which we provide free of charge such as the play trail at Great Notley, the Gruffalo trail at Thorndon, Stickman at Weald, Wild Wednesdays at Danbury and the new coastal themed adventure play equipment at Cudmore Grove. Over the last couple of years we've invested more than £1million in the parks for the benefit of our visitors with improvements to footpaths and accessibility, car parking, facilities, signage and play equipment and there are plans for further investment to come. We need to make sure we can continue to maintain, develop and invest in the country parks. Car parking charges are one of the ways we can bring in funds to support this.
To find the cost of parking at your local park, find the park under places to go. Costs are also displayed at each of the parks on the tariff boards by each payment machine. Several of our parks now accept contactless payment. This will continue to be rolled out across all Parks. We've also taken the opportunity to simplify the parking tariff. Costs apply to all vehicles, including Blue Badge holders and tax-exempt vehicles. Coaches and minibuses of over 15 seats are charged £15 a day. Motorcycles park free.
