Education

Let our Education Rangers release your imagination and provoke creativity in our outdoor classrooms, at 10 sites across the county.

The parks are located from the north to the south of the county, covering all aspects of geographical terrain and habitats.

The coastal areas of Mersea and Hadleigh through to the ancient woodlands and formal gardens of Danbury, Thorndon and Weald are all excellent areas to inspire outdoor learning.

Specialist Living History days are catered for at Cressing Temple and Hadleigh Castle Iron Age Roundhouse. All parks can introduce pupils to Orienteering, Art and Earth Walks.

See alternative energy in action at our newest park, Great Notley where the Visitor Centre won an award for its construction.

Schools may choose to have a subject focussed day, concentrating on introducing or reinforcing subject matter covered in the classroom. Alternatively it is possible to create your own day from a variety of subjects, and revisit any one of them at a later date.

In the Wild at Heart Brochure are listed activities that you may wish to experience with your class or group. When booking you will be advised on activities which will fit into a day or half day visit, and also those that work well together.

Our Education Rangers are available to provide follow up visits to schools, bringing with them many activities to enhance the children's experience of their visit to a country park. The activities are created either for the school grounds or the classroom thus enabling the school to get the most out of their visit.

We look forward to sharing our open spaces with you.
