Shadow Box

Cressing Temple

Back To Events The shadow box frame includes a 3D image: there is a moon, twinkling stars and Apollo 11 ready for launch.

On 20th July 1969 Neil Armstrong became the first man to walk on the moon, this July is the 50th anniversary. Make a shadow box frame depicting the iconic Apollo 11 mission the night before its launch. Use layered materials to achieve a 3-D effect: a textured moon made from modelling clay and illuminated stars in the night sky. Learn about one of science’s greatest triumphs as we explore the people and the machines behind this era-defining event. All crafting materials provided as well as step by step tuition and a few extra surprises along the way!
