Cycling in the Country Parks

Why not explore your local country park by bike with the whole family. A fantastic way to seek out rolling hills, costal cycle routes, historical parklands and wooded wonderlands.

The maps below highlight the cycle routes for each country park.

Great Notley and the Flitch Way and Thorndon Country Park offer you the chance to hire bikes, tandems, trailers, child seats and tagalongs. Whether you just want a short ride around the park or are planning a full day's expedition. For more information please visit www.trailnet.org.uk

Walking in the Country Parks

For a leisurely stroll or a more upbeat pace why not take a walk in the country parks.

Whether you want to take a walk back in time through the historical landscape or take in the smells of the sea air followed by a tea and ice cream each of our country parks are unique and well worth a walking visit.

Geocaching

Have you ever found if difficult to entice your family out for a walk in the countryside? Why not try Geocaching, the high-tech treasure hunting game, using GPS technology to locate hidden containers, called geocaches. There will soon be caches to be found in all of the Country Parks, check out Geocaching.com to find the coordinates for the caches.

If you have not got your own GPS receiver but would like to try geocaching we will be holding taster sessions throughout the country parks, so keep your eye out for sessions to be held at your local park. Alternatively, you will soon be able to hire preprogrammed units from selected country parks. For more information please visit Trailnet
