Marsh Farm visitor attraction
The farm is a firm favourite with children who love getting up close to the chickens, pigs, sheep and cows along the farm trail and meeting the ponies, goats and other familiar friends in the pet barn. Information rooms encourage them to learn about the animals along the way and there are daily demonstrations from the farm rangers as well as the seasonal spectacles of lambing and shearing. There are also several play areas both inside and out as well as the popular tractor and trailer ride into the country park. Visitors can also enjoy a range of organised seasonal activities throughout the year including wildlife events, summer fun, and seasonal shows.
Marsh Farm Country Park
The country park is an ideal place to stretch your legs and explore the scenic riverside paths along the sea wall. The grazing marshes of the park were created by the Dutch during the 17th century when they drained the marshes and built the sea wall. Today they comprise many rare plants including sea barley and grass vetchling and are an important feeding ground for hundreds of over-wintering birds, including Brent geese.
